Conference Overview:
The BBIF–International Biobank Conference 2026 aims to bring together global experts, researchers, clinicians, technologists, and industry partners to explore the evolving landscape of biobanking, biomedical innovation, and translational research.
Hosted by the Biobank India Foundation in collaboration with the Technology Enabling Centre (TEC) and ASPIRE–BioNEST, this two-day scientific event will provide a vibrant platform to discuss technology integration, translational research, ethical governance, quality standards, and sustainability in biobanking.
The conference will also emphasize the role of biobanks as enablers of precision medicine, multi-omics research, and clinical translation, fostering collaboration between academia, healthcare institutions, and industry innovators.

•Figures / Tables: Optional, must fit within abstract limits

About the Workshop
The Pre-Conference Workshop will provide participants with a practical understanding of modern biobanking operations in a real-world hospital setting. Conducted at the Continental Hospital Biobank, the program will focus on hands-on training across the entire biobank workflow — from biospecimen collection and processing to documentation, storage, and data management.
Participants will also gain insights into quality systems, regulatory requirements, and operational challenges faced by hospital-integrated biobanks in India.
Learning Objectives
- Understand biobank setup, workflow, and operational structure.
- Perform sample collection, labeling, processing, and cryostorage activities.
- Learn the essentials of Biobank Information Management Systems (BIMS).
- Discuss best practices in quality control, biosafety, and documentation.
- Strengthen collaboration between clinical and research biobanks.
