Conference Overview:
The BBIF–International Biobank Conference 2027 aims to bring together global experts, researchers, clinicians, technologists, and industry partners to explore the evolving landscape of biobanking, biomedical innovation, and translational research.
Hosted by the Biobank India Foundation in collaboration with ACTREC–TMC, Mumbai, this three-day scientific event, including a pre-conference workshop on the first day, will provide a dynamic platform to explore automation in biobanking, technology integration, translational research, ethical governance, quality standards, sustainability, and next-generation automated biobanking systems that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and long-term biospecimen management.
The conference will further highlight the pivotal role of automated biobanks as key enablers of precision medicine, multi-omics research, One health research and clinical translation, while fostering interdisciplinary collaborations among academia, healthcare institutions, biobanks, and industry innovators to accelerate high-quality biomedical research.
Special emphasis will be placed on the growing need for semi – automated and automated biobanking systems in developing nations, particularly India and South & Southeast Asian countries, where rapid advancements in healthcare and biomedical research demand standardized, scalable, and technology-driven biobank infrastructure. The conference will address how semi – automation and automation can strengthen biospecimen quality, improve operational efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, facilitate international collaboration, and support equitable access to precision healthcare across the region.
Conference Highlights:
•The program commencing with a Day 1 pre-conference workshop on Automated Biobanking.
•Two-day scientific followed by plenary talks, thematic scientific sessions, and expert panel discussions.
•Special session on Biobanking Basics designed for early-career researchers, clinicians, and biobank personnel.
•Dedicated session on Advanced Biobanking for biobanking professionals from India and around the world.
